Dr. Sarah B. Steinberg

The Inside View

For more than 30 years, Sarah Steinberg’s professional and personal interests have been at the intersection of continuing education, technology, and the broader strategic issues in higher education. She is an accomplished leader, having served over 20 years as a Dean in continuing education and as the Executive Vice Provost with responsibility for university-wide strategic initiatives, including online and distance education at Johns Hopkins University.

Sarah has extensive experience in strategic marketing and communications, academic program development and review, technology applications, and student services. In addition to her consulting practice, she is on the adjunct faculty at Georgetown University in the School of Continuing Studies, teaching online in the master’s degree programs in Higher Education and Technology Management.

Sarah enjoys watching her favorite lacrosse teams (Hopkins and Cornell), attempting to master container gardening, and reading the latest books on entrepreneurial leadership. She resides in Rockville, MD with her husband and is frequently found on Facetime with her three young grandchildren.

Rich Kochman

The Outside View

Rich Kochman is a data-driven business leader with a passion for education innovation. He brings a depth of experience and a strong track record of driving sustainable enrollment growth to higher education. Over his career, he has spent more than a dozen years in senior roles at various companies, such as 2U and General Assembly, leading product, pricing, marketing, business operations, and data analytics.

Currently, as an executive consultant and advisor, he continues leveraging his broad expertise to deliver measurable growth strategies for institutions and organizations in higher education. In addition to his consulting engagements, Rich teaches Marketing and Finance classes in the Education Entrepreneurship Master’s Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Rich also serves as a mentor and advisor for several EdTech startups and has been a featured speaker at events hosted by i3@UNC, the Wharton Innovation Summit, and Google Education. Rich enjoys following his favorite hockey teams, bicycling, and discovering new music. He resides in Potomac, MD with his wife, two children and loyal mutt.
